WHO WE ARE
In 2015 we acquired a blank canvas property and built a working farm from the ground up. Our efforts have paid off, and in 2021 Zeta Acres LLC was established. Our namesake and my first dog, a Black Lab called Zeta, is the inspiration for our farm name and letters (ZTA). She was my best friend and running buddy for nearly 12 years.

With my background in Conservation & Wildlife Biology, we use farm practices that align with the natural balance of the land. For instance, we use goats and manual removal of weeds instead of herbicides, avoid tilling and minimize mowing to reduce soil erosion, recycle bedding and manure as compost, use mulch from locally sourced trees, employ fly predators instead of sprays, and conserve water by using gravity fed systems. We work wildlife habitat into our plans. There are bat boxes hanging on the barn, wildflowers in the pasture to encourage bees and butterflies, high perches for birds of prey, abandoned prairie dog burrows for reptiles and amphibians, and huge log piles to shelter creatures of all kinds.

Part of our enjoyment of living on a farm is being able to share it with others. We give back by donating our time and hatching eggs to local schools, welcoming visitors to learn about farm animals, volunteering for Colorado Parks & Wildlife, and donating facility space to a small, locally owned business (CountryBarkColorado.com).
